VERRUCAE / WARTS

A verruca is caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). It is actually a viral infection of the skin, similar to a wart. If it is left untreated it can become painful, unsightly and in severe cases immobilising. We frequently treat verrucae. In most cases, it will go of its own accord however, in most cases it does not and requires treatment. We offer treatments of debridement and traditional caustics that is applied to the skin with a dressing.

NAIL SURGERY

Nail surgery is a permanent solution for ingrown or painful involuted nails. Local anesthesia is used to aid removal of the whole nail or part of the nail. A chemical then is applied to prevent nail regrowth.

DIABETIC FOOT ASSESSMENT

Diabetes can unfortunately cause multiple foot issues and cause a significant risk to your health, particularly if your diabetes is uncontrolled. So it is important for a qualified podiatrist to identify these risks and tailor a treatment plan to suit your individual needs. If you are diabetic, you should have diabetic foot assessment every 6-12 months.

HOME VISITS

Mainly for the elderly or housebound patients, a routine treatment is provided where a podiatrist visits and treats you in the comfort of your own home. We offer a caring, warm and professional service.

BIOMECHANICS

Do you suffer from lower back pain, knee pain or pain in your feet? Have you got pain in your heel or the ball of your foot? Or developing a bunion?
Chances are we can help improve your symptoms.

Biomechanics is a study of the functions of the lower limb. It assesses your painful symptoms in order to diagnosis, treat and prevent further reoccurrence.
By assessing the lower limb’s function and correcting with an insole (orthotics), you can realign your body. It is especially important to enhance performance and prevent injury in sporting activity.

A biomechanical assessment involves roughly 60 minutes of consultation, assessment of how you walk (gait), the posture of your feet and the impact they may be having on the rest of your body. We will then provide appropriate treatment, advise and management plan which may involve prescribing simple insoles or customised orthotics specialised for your individual feet.

All our feet differ in size, shape and function therefore require orthotics specialised to their feet needs. A specialist podiatrist will examine the underlying biomechanical changes that may have contributed to your symptoms and prescribe insoles accordingly.
